drunkenspontaneity//christian came home for a second
I never leave my room, but I love the idea of the sky.
I’d just hate to be disillusioned by going outside.
Let’s recap: We opened up for a national act at our first show ever. We got to spend about 3 months hanging out with the ever-talented Alex Regan at Parametric Studios recording our first EP, “The Afternoon of Extravagant Delight”. Then we got to release that EP. We got to play with and make some friends in Icarus the Owl. We got to play with Joyce Manor… where we also handed out almost 200 hand crafted copies of our EP. We finally got to play one of The Underground Foundation’s famous house shows- and then we played a bunch more. We acquired a sibling in our older brother band, The Hidden Yards, and received more than a few lessons in the meaning of family. Together with the help of our mom, Steve, and more often than not step-mom, Destini, we put on a 3-part series of stupidly fun house show parties at our very own venue, The Kachina Room, each respectively themed: Star Wars, Jungle, & Game Of Thrones. (w/ <3 to David) We even concluded one of the shows with a grand finale cover of Bohemian Rhapsody; everyone was screaming and jumping around and I’m not being facetious when I say there have never been smiles more genuine than the ones on every single persons face in those 6 minutes. We got to play at Cellar Door Vintage for First Friday with some of the best people doing it in tempe. We had one of our songs aired on KUKQ. With the help of every single person I’ve ever met, we literally won that radio station’s contest that had been going on for weeks in a single night just one day before it ended. So then we got to play Warped Tour. I guess it was cool. In the mean time, we made a million friends and with every show, more and more people in the crowd were singing our songs back to us- which is a feeling I could never describe.
This summer and in the short 6 months of Clementine’s existence, we’ve accomplished things that the 3 of us have dreamt of since we were in elementary school. We would like to say thank you to every single person who has helped us along the way because there is no way we could have accomplished any of this on our own.
On August 22nd we have a show at LOFI Coffee. This will be Christian’s and Alex’s last show with Clementine. Christian is moving to California at the end of the month and Alex needs more time to focus on The Hidden Yards (our behemoth brother band who are great follow them here https://www.facebook.com/thehiddenyardsaz) So what that means for Clementine, I’m not entirely sure. It’s going to be tough saying goodbye to summer 2013. But with only a week left until my impending Sophomore year, that’s what I have to do. I spent these 3 hot months singing songs about last summer and all along, I’ve been creating memories that I’ll probably be singing about next summer.
Because there’s no way I can stop, things are just changing. and the future looks cool.

Our buddy Jonatan Mendoza made this.
“Hey we are having another house show at the Kachina Room! The bands that are playing are Trilogy, The Hard Luck Kid Clementine, The Hidden Yards! It’s gonna be awesome. 5 bucks at the door. Show up for the show people aren’t getting in after the bands are done playing. It’s a show.”
